back to wordpress (again)
As I continue to wonder aimlessly around the world of blogging tools I have returned to Wordpress.
Something seems to be different this time, I'm not sure whether it is the Wordpress software or a change at my web hosting but the lagginess seems to have disappeared, even Pagespeed agrees.

Although somewhat clunky for a simple blog, Wordpress is the only tool that I can run how I would like. I can break my writing into different topics (not tags), I can have my posts sitting under the domain name without interference from a /posts/ subdirectory and don't have to stick to whatever icons and design that the blogging service owner feels perfect from their point of view.
There is also the undeniable fact that I can use Wordpress, within my existing web hosting for free. Ghost, Bear blog and Pika are at least $60 plus VAT @ 20%, each has its quirks that I just don't need to tolerate here.
